In the year 2017, a transformative chapter began for the Gunadala Lourdhmatha Shrine and Parish with the appointment of Rev Fr Eleti William Jayaraju as its Rector and Parish Priest. Rev Fr Jayaraju brought a vision of progress and spiritual enhancement to the shrine, leaving an indelible mark on its landscape and community.
Under his dedicated leadership, the shrine witnessed significant improvements and developments. One of the noteworthy initiatives was the comprehensive installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras throughout the shrine. This technological enhancement not only ensured the safety and security of the devotees but also added a layer of vigilance to preserve the sanctity of the sacred space.
Rev Fr Jayaraju’s commitment to maintaining the pristine beauty of the surroundings was evident in the comprehensive cleaning of the hill on which the shrine stands. This effort not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the shrine but also reflected a profound respect for the natural environment.
A key addition to the shrine’s infrastructure was the construction of a sand way adorned with a beautiful fountain. This picturesque pathway provided a serene and inviting route for pilgrims, fostering a tranquil atmosphere conducive to prayer and reflection. The fountain, with its artistic charm, added a touch of grace to the spiritual ambiance of the shrine.
Beyond the physical improvements, Rev Fr Jayaraju took charge of the centenarian church, overseeing its maintenance and furthering its role as a vital center of worship and community activities. His leadership extended to various other shrine developments, reflecting a holistic approach to spiritual and infrastructural enhancement.
His multifaceted initiatives, from technological advancements to environmental stewardship, demonstrated a deep commitment to both the physical and spiritual well-being of the shrine and its devoted community.
